VIDEO: MBRP Armor BLK Dual Exhaust System Awakens 5.3L 1500s

Often, one of a pickup owner’s first significant modifications is installing an upgraded exhaust with a racer sound. The exhaust frees up a few extra ponies under the hood, and its tone attracts just enough attention when cruising. For owners of 2019-2024 5.3-liter equipped Silverado or Sierra 1500 pickups, AmericanTrucks offers the MBRP Armor BLK Dual Exhaust System.

The MBRP Armor BLK Dual Exhaust System is a cat-back design constructed of aluminized steel. The exhaust features a 3-inch Helmholtz resonator (J-pipe) that fits between the factory catalytic converter and the MBRP 3-inch chambered dual outlet muffler. The J-pipe offers exceptional exhaust drone dampening, affording the perfect mix of aggressive sound at wide-open throttle and subtle qualities on those long drives.

Exiting the muffler are two specialized high-heat black powder-coated finish 3-inch pipes bent to allow the exhaust to exit at the side of the truck in front of the right rear tire. Slipped on each pipe is a matching blacked-out 4-inch exhaust tip extending slightly beyond the lower edge of the truck bed.

The kit includes the Helmholtz resonator, muffler, tailpipes, exhaust tips, and all the necessary mounting hardware. Additionally, for different cab and bed lengths, MBRP has extra piping to compensate for the additional distance. The MBRP 3-inch BLK Series Dual Exhaust System could require minor fitment adjustments in rare circumstances, but otherwise, it is a simple installation. The exhaust is designed to utilize the factory hanger locations and two additional bolt-on provisions. AmericanTrucks estimates it would take approximately two hours to install the exhaust.

Bolt on an MBRP exhaust system, and you’ll stand out from the crowd with a performance exhaust that sounds great.

Note: The MBRP Armor BLK Dual Exhaust System is not California Air Resources Board (CARB) approved for California or states adopting California emissions standards.
