The 2016 ATS-V can’t get here soon enough, and thanks to a recent article we’ve ran over a week ago showcasing spy photos of the car in question, we’re really itching to get our hands on one!
We’ve just stumbled upon this 16-second long teaser video of an apparent V-Series Cadillac performing a burnout on dry asphalt. Obviously not the upcoming V8-powered CTS-V model, judging by the audio, it only makes sense that what we’re hearing is a shriek of a small-displacement twin turbocharged V6 – borrowed from the current full-sized XTS and and the midsize, soon-to-be-midrange CTS VSport.
While that twin turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine comes delivered in 420 hp trim in the current offerings, we can only imagine that the same engine in a smaller, lighter, and less-restricted package could only bring more horsepower and performance from the full-on V-Series ATS. Naturally, it’ll bring a Nurburgring-tuned suspension and a heftier price tag along with it. It’s also rumored to be available in both coupe and sedan forms, too!
Although nothing is official just yet, we hear that the car is due for its unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show during the week of November, 21st. Knowing GM, we’ll also get a sneak peek of more hardware from some of its other divisions as well.
Until then, we’ll take a white ATS-V, in coupe form, with a 6-speed manual transmission, and with black wheels. Please and thank you.
