Talk about a surprise! When we first spotted the MSD Performance Atomic AirForce intake manifold at SEMA 2014, we saw it sitting attached to the top of a Gen-V LT1 under the hood of a new C7. We mistakingly jumped the gun andĀ assumed that it was a Gen-V exclusive.
However, after we had a chance to cruise passed the MSD booth later that day, we were even more thrilled to discover that not only is this available for Stingray owners, but for those of us who still modify and tune the Gen-III and Gen-IV LS engines! It features a lightweight, polymer construction, a 103mm throttle bore for large throttle bodies, and an overall very efficient design.
Being MSD’s first attempt at an aftermarket intake manifold, it looks like they’re off to a great start! Just check out all of the specs below!
Features:
- Available for the LS1, -2, -3, -6, -7, L99, and LT1
- Designed using Computatuonal Fluid Dynamic Modeling to create optimal plenum volume and efficient air flow paths
- Two-piece manifold design provides convenient access to the runners for porting
- Allows for the use of stock fuel rails, and aftermarket rails including the Atomic LS EFI
- Direct Flow path runner design promotes maximum airflow
- Polumer material resists heart soak and minimizes weight
- 103mm throttle bore allows the use of large throttle bodies for greater flow
- Lingenfelter Performance Engineering tests show an additional 36 horsepower to the tires “over the competition” as tested on an LPE L28 Camaro
