For the last six years, the SEMA Action Network (SAN) has been celebrating the Collector Car Appreciation Day (CCAD) – raising awareness for automotive restoration and collecting. While we understand that some of you are serious racers, as are we, you have to understand that the best way to help spread the word about the passion of musclecars to the masses is through local area car shows and cruises.
It’s not only about introducing the “car scene” to those who may be unfamiliar or otherwise understanding of the hobby, but to help pass the torch to the kids of today who will be the enthusiasts of tomorrow. After all, that 8-year old you see strolling your local car meet could someday be the next John Force, Chip Foose or Jay Leno. If we want our hobby to survive for generations to come, we have to work together to keep it alive!
This year’s CCAD is being held on July 10, 2015, at various locations throughout the country. You can see if there’s a location near you by visiting this link here. Learn more about SAN and the Collector Car Appreciation Day in the official release below, and don’t forget to follow the event on Facebook as well.
Official Release:
The SEMA Action Network (SAN) announced that the next “Collector Car Appreciation Day” will be celebrated on July 10, 2015. The date marks the sixth consecutive commemoration in what is now an annual event to raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society.
Intended to celebrate the classics of the past and the future, the U.S. Senate helped launch Collector Car Appreciation Day (CCAD) by passing Resolutions each year at the SAN’s request. The previous resolutions were sponsored by Senator Jon Tester (D-MT), Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) and Senator Mark Begich (D-AK).
The Senators have been strong advocates for the automotive hobby in Washington, D.C., and recognize the integral role collector cars have played in fostering our nation’s appreciation for the automobile’s unique historical place in our history.
Here is a list of scheduled events to commemorate America’s time-tested love affair with the automobile. Individuals, car clubs and business owners interested in publicizing events may submit the details of their July celebration at no cost by using this link. If you are unable to celebrate on July 10, the SAN encourages events to be scheduled throughout the month of July 2015.
