We’re not even sure where to begin with this video. On the face of it, we can totally relate being stuck in the frozen tundra of the Midwest during the winter months and having to chop wood in order to stay warm and survive. Usually we use a log splitter – or if we’re feelingĀ Commando, an axe.
But when we stumbled upon this video from theĀ Buckeye GoatsĀ on our Facebook news feed today, we couldn’t help but feel bewildered and confused. It features a pair of guys using a 2006 Brazen Orange GTO as a log splitter – seriously. They’ve done so by jacking the car up and sliding a pair of jackstands and a jack underneath. Then they pulled the driver’s side wheel off and left the car in gear and running after they had mounted a threaded log splitting cone to the wheel hub.
We’re not even sure if these guys are drunk and being foolish orĀ if we’re jealous by the fact that we didn’t think of it ourselves. In all seriousness, though, the duo does make quick work of a pile of logs they’re using, although we don’t think it’s the best way to go about it. The continuous bending over is bad on the back and frankly, we have more respect for a GTO than that. Plus, we can’t seem to wrap our head around the idea of using a running/in-gear vehicle for industrial us, despite the fact that’s how it’s still done in many third-world countries. But to each his own.
