The C8 Corvette has been a hugely popular addition to the automotive hobby for the last few years, to the point that the aftermarket has been struggling to keep up. Cosmetic upgrades, basic bolt-ons supercharger kits and more have been readily available.
Tuning has been another issues, but that isn’t stopping some performance shops like Florida High Performance from installing turbo kits into some customer cars. We’ve actually seen this particular C8 before, in an earlier installment right here at GMEFI Magazine. At the time it was a fairly basic bolt-on car that woke up with a few simple upgrades and tuning.
Looking to turn the wick up further, Erik at Florida High Performance sets out to created a boosted monster than can perform on and off the track; while still being daily-driver friendly.
Utilizing a freshly-built engine from Late Model Engines, and a Peitz Performance Twin Turbo Kit, utilizing a pair of Precision Turbo snails. To take things even further, a ProMeth methane kit, further tuning and additional tweak will help the car achieve an additional 200-300hp on FLHP’s in-house Dynojet chassis dynameter.
Of course, other areas of the car will have to be addressed, including the axles, which have also been upgraded by Driveshaft Shop units capable of withstanding up to 1400hp. Cicio Performance supplied a Dodson Motorsport clutch pack for the car, that’s also capable of handling 4-digit power numbers.
The 20-minute clip above is pack-full of awesome details and technical insight from Erik, every step of the way. Be sure to check it out, and subscribe to Florida High Performance’s YouTube channel HERE.
