VIDEO: FLHP C8 Z06 Makes Some Seriously Unexpected HP Gains

The C8 Z06 is a high-revving, flat-plane crank’d son of a gun with 670 naturally-aspirated horsepower fro its 5.5L V8 engine. Lending supercar sounds with the performance to match, it’s certainly helping Chevrolet drive to the world that it means business. Of course, many Corvette enthusiast simply can’t leave well enough alone, and that’s why they turn to our friends in the industry to take things up a notch. Or three.

One such outlet, is Florida High Performance. They’ve been cranking away for quite some time, and have certainly put a dent in the GM LS/LT universe. The C8 Corvette is far from an exception, so when it came time to take a 2023 example to the next level, FLHP’s Erik Bentley.

While strapping on speed parts to a C8Z isn’t the latest news happening right now, Erik felt that he wanted to put his own twist on a customer’s cars, using simple bolt-ons to provide an improved soundtrack and a bit more performance. Utilizing a few unique components that we don’t see enough of, is a trifecta of Soler Performance throttle bodies, an Eventuri cold-air kit, a Valvetronic catback system and of course, a set of Kooks long-tube headers.
