After going through [proper] Top Gear withdrawals for nearly two years, we finally see our favorite trio back at the helm and behind the wheel of their upcoming Amazon series, The Grand Tour. Taking the original formula that made their iteration of Top Gear so popular, the crew essentially picks up where they left off (albeit, without The Stig), testing cars and putting them through ridiculous challenges.
Just very recently, the crew on The Grand Tour teamed up with fellow Brit James Corden for his latest segment of Carpool Karaoke on The Late, Late Show — which has been quite a viral sensation, featuring stars like Justin Beiber, Adele, Stevie Wonder, and many others.
However in an attempt to try something a little different (and to help promote The Grand Tour), Corden took the opportunity of riding shotgun with Jermey Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond around the Willow Springs road course with random quiz questions chosen for each host.
Ranging from their favorite choice of alcohol, sexual positions, various math questions and even their choice for president. What’s particularly interesting with this segment to us, is the steed of choice; the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport.
Essentially a Corvette Z06/Z07 with the Stingray’s LT1 powerplant, the 460 hp Corvette is perfectly suited for the bends of Willow Springs. With additional aero, massive 15-inch carbon ceramic Brembo brakes and track-spec tires, the Vette hugs the corners as Corden fires rapid fire questions at our favorite car show hosts, with much humor and impressive tact.
We have to say that the Grand Sport’s exhaust sounds amazing, and the comedy chemistry of Clarkson, May and Hammond are as funny as ever. Check out the clip above if you need a few laughs — it’s great!
