If you’re the owner of a 2014-2018 Silverado or Sierra 1500, then you’re probably already at the point where your front shocks could use an upgrade, or at minus, a replacement. As decent as the OEM shocks are, there’s always room for improvement. In addition, these trucks are six-ten years old, and if you’re like us, you drive your truck quite a bit.
There are plenty of choices on the market, but AmericanTrucks gives us a closer look at the Bilstein B8 5100 Series shock. They’re adjustable, serving as a leveling kit, as well as providing a better ride and handling. Some interesting features include providing either a lower or taller ride height.
Naturally, lowering the truck will give you more of that “performance truck” aesthetic that many enthusiasts strive for, but lifting the body which will allow you to run a taller tire for those of you like to run through the mud, or dig the mall crawler vibe. Or, if you simply just want to raise the front (in this case) to level the truck out and eliminate the factory “rake,” you can certainly do that.
The guys from AmericanTrucks break down more of the features, and they give us a closer look on how to install them. Check it out in the attached video above.
