For anyone missing the CTS-V, the car that brought a bit of class to a rowdy supercharged 6.2-liter engine, Cadillac has been teasing with a two-part replacement plan and then said, you’ll have to wait till spring of 2021 for all the details. Well, it seems like our first look at the CT4-V Blackwing and the CT5-V Blackwing is going to come a little earlier, as Cadillac has officially set a date for the cars debut and for when the not so patiently waiting can place a reservation for delivery of the first of the new high-power Blackwing models.
On February 1, 2021 Cadillac plans to officially debut the CT4-V Blackwing and the CT5-V Blackwing and begin accepting reservations from would-be buyers and the General has confirmed. Pre-orders will begin at 7:30 PM EST, can be placed on Cadillac.com, and will require a $1,000 deposit. Sounds fair, right? Well, there is a catch. Only the first 500 people will be able to get their hands on one of the first cars, as Cadillac only plans to make 250 examples of each model initially. Anyone that comes too late to throw their hat in the ring for the first 500 cars can be put on a waiting list for the next batch of vehicles
Besides not having to wait on a call from a dealer to make your reservation and getting the new Blackwing model of choice before anyone else, there are a few other incentives for saving the date and being one of the first to pull up the Reserve Yours page on Cadillac.com. The first of the Blackwing models will be fitted with a high performance steering wheel. Cadillac showed off the custom centerpiece that features a carbon-fiber trim, a red 12 o’clock marker, and a V-Series emblem with a unique serialized plate, in a press release last year. Also, all Blackwing buyer will be invited to attend complimentary two-day experience at Cadillac’s V-Series Academy driving school.
