SEMA 2016: Fireball Camaro 900 Makes an Appearance

The 6th-generation Camaro has been on such a popularity kick over the last year, that there seems to be no end in sight. Now with the ZL1 being recently unveiled and a rumored Z/28 to be hot on its tail, the new Camaro will only gain in popularity for its 50th anniversary.

In recent months, there’s been some noise being made about a one-off, tuner-built Camaro that’s being made available through at least one dealership in the Oklahoma City area. Dubbed the Fireball Camaro, we had a peek of it earlier in the year when it was announced to be the first 6th-gen in the 10s. Little did we know at the time, that the car was still being developed as a tuner car with two optional flavors; 700 hp and 900 hp.

The 700 hp version made some waves a couple of months back when Street Outlaws Farmtruck and AZN introduced it in a short clip (attached above), but it wasn’t until SEMA 2016 where we got to see it up close and in person, with the two reality TV stars walking us through the car with the help of Billy Hayes.

fireballcamaro-1Packing a standard issue LT1 under the hood, the 900 hp variant gets a bump in power from 455 to 900, with the help of a set of CNC-ported heads, a boost-friendly camshaft, an MSD Atomic AirForce intake manifold and an F1A ProCharger blower.

The sticker may shock some of you ($90,000), but it comes complete with upgraded brakes and suspension, a carbon fiber driveshaft, an aftermarket hood, drag radials, and several other modifications that will ensure that it will handle all of the abuse heavy-right-footed street racers can throw at it.

It’s also being billed as a Hellcat killer, and with an additional 200 hp and a few hundred pounds of less girth, we feel that t should be an easy feat to accomplish.
