SLP’s Loudmouth Now a Standalone Brand

LOUDMOUTH-2

For those of us who still remember the ’90s like your author, SLP was home to a plethora of performance parts and even complete vehicles built for the GM enthusiasts, by GM enthusiasts. If you were an F-body owner back in those days, you more than likely had a laundry list of SLP hardware installed into your car, and may have even participated in one of the annual SLP Customer Appreciation Days.

While those days are gone, SLP is certainly still manufacturing and engineering high-quality parts for the masses, even offering some goodies for Ford and Chrysler applications. Of course, SLP hasn’t forgotten its roots as its primary focus is and always will be General Motors products. If you’ve ever installed a Loudmouth exhaust system into your car, then you understand the that there’s a balance of affordability and impressive gains to be had from one of their kits. Recently however, SLP has decided to break Loudmouth off into its own brand – expanding the product line and to build on the foundation SLP has already put into place.

Official Release:

More products, more affordability with new interactive exhaust technology

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MICH. — LoudMouth Exhaust, long associated with premier exhaust systems that can fit virtually any vehicle, debuts as a stand-alone brand at the SEMA Show, Nov. 3 to 6 in Las Vegas. Previously, LoudMouth was a product line within Street Legal Performance (SLP).

“As a stand-alone entity, LoudMouth Exhaust now can take a stronger position in the marketplace,” said Jay Velthoven, brand LOUDMOUTH-1manager. “We’re shaking up the exhaust space with new products on even more vehicles and with new technologies.”

One of LoudMouth’s first new product lines is SmartMouth Interactive Exhaust. An interface exhaust technology, SmartMouth allows drivers to custom tune their vehicle exhaust sounds using an iOS app on an iPhone or iPad. SmartMouth will be available in 2016 a variety of OEM brands, such as GM, Ford, Subaru, BMW and more.

“With SmartMouth, performance enthusiasts can customize their vehicle with a unique audible experience at an affordable price,” said Velthoven. “Imagine being able to create exhaust sounds for specific situations, or to reflect a driver’s personality. That’s whatSmartMouth is all about.”

LoudMouth exhausts are lighter than stock exhaust systems, which optimize overall vehicle handling. The exhaust systems maximize flow and minimize backpressure, which increase a vehicle’s power and efficiency. In addition, LoudMouth’s sound characteristics help amplify vehicle attitude.

Wildy popular and widely used, LoudMouth exhaust systems can be found on dozens of vehicles on the show floor at the SEMA Show. LoudMouth will showcase a 1966 Lincoln Continental with a custom LoudMouth exhaust system in its booth No. 20379. The vehicle was featured in the first season of MobSteel, an NBC Sports Network reality TV series focused on custom cars. Bully Dog will display a Jeep JK equipped with a High-Tuck Cat-Back LoudMouth Exhaust system. And Vegas Off-Road Experience will display a Ford Raptor equipped with a prototype side exit LoudMouth Exhaust system in the Ford Out Front exhibition area.
