Every year, the amount of trucks that pour into the gates at Holley LS Fest continues to increase; this is due to an upward trend in the popularity of LS swapped street truck builds. In order to cater to the enthusiasts attending, showing, and competing in the events, Holley has amended their current prize structure for the LS and LT powered trucks to encourage competition. The new Truck Grand Champion class will crown a winner who will take home a $1,000 prize, a unique plaque, and Grand Champion Jacket.
The new Grand Champion competition class at LS Fest is setup for those who want to test their truckās and their own abilities. This competition isnāt just about going fast, itās a well-rounded series of racing that will put everything to the test. Competitors in the Grand Champion competition will make at least one pass down the dragstrip, run three laps through the autocross course, two laps through the 3S Challenge, and one lap around the trackās road course. Bonus points will also be awarded for competing in the Poker Run event.
All participants must make their runs on DOT approved street tires in order to pass tech inspection at the track. Once more, you have to stay on that same tire through the whole competition, which can make things a little tricky when you need a tire that can launch off the line, and keep you planted during the autocross course, so choose your tires wisely! Check out the full list of rules here.
This change is set to go into effect for the 2018 year at LS Fest West and LS Fest in Bowling Green, KY. Registration for the event is the same regardless of the type of vehicle you plan to bring to compete with. Just make sure to enter the year, make, and model that you will be using in the competition so the staff working the LS Fest events can plan accordingly.
