Rumors of a special design package being in the works for the 2021 Chevy Camaro have been circulating since early 2020 and now we get our first look at this unique option. The package is named around the new bold color, Wild Cherry Tintcoat which is a completely new color to GM. The design package will be available in two distinct levels that will undoubtedly make these special cars highly sought after.
Both packages feature a distinct black on red color scheme with black metallic hash mark stripes, 20-inch 5-split spoke forged wheels with a polished finish and black star center caps, and premium carpeted floor mats that proudly display the Camaro name. Package number two takes the styling a bit further with the addition of a matching black center stripe, a black and carbon fiber fuel door, Carbon Flash Metallic second generation ground effects, and black suede knee pads.
Each package will be offered on various Camaro trim levels from the base up to the 2SS. However, neither package seems to be an option for the LS Coupe or ZL1 trims. That does not exclude these cars from the new color itself though as it can be added, absent the full design package, at an additional cost.
Among the available hues for the 2021 Camaro lineup, Wild Cherry Tintcoat will be the only new color as the others are carry-overs from the 2020 year model. Although that is not the only color-scheme change up GM has in store for the 2021 Camaro and it seems as if the color options Rally Green Metallic and Garnet Red Tintcoat will be getting the boot. Like the previous models though, there will be a second red paint offering for the 2021 Camaro as well but for those that enjoy the darker side of the red hue, Wild Cherry Tincoat seems like a good addition for the Camaro.
