The NHRA mandates a spec Compstar 6.100-inch steel rod as well as a spec piston. The SAM Tech combo utilizes Compstar rods, but several manufacturers—including Eagle and Carrillo—offer NHRA-approved components as well. Tight regulation keeps rotating assembly bobweight at a reasonable 1,750 grams.
