The 6th-Gen Camaro is very possibly one of the best modern muscle cars made. Ever since they rolled off the assembly line at GM, the whole community has been in aw of its appearance and performance. GM really slung in some much needed improvements for the latest generation, and it’s a superior Camaro is almost every way. Does that stop people from wanting to build them up and get even more out of them? Absolutely not! A fine example of taking the 6th-Gen Camaro to the next level can be found at Carlyle Racing, and featured in this video which was taken at the Kil-Kare Raceway in Ohio.
Carlyle Racing is a performance shop full service shop with fabrication, installation, tuning, and a nitrous refill station that’s been turning heads and gaining popularity over the last few years. They are based in the Columbus, OH area, and have only been around since 2011, but you likely already know the name. Their Atomic Fusion Corvette is the world’s fastest IRS Corvette, and first LSX drag radial class car in the sixes.
Now take their expertise and pair it with a Magnuson TVS2300 blower, and we’ve got a heck of a Camaro out there. This system typically puts the 6th-Gen Camaro in the 505 horsepower and 460 ft.-lbs. of Torque range, to the wheels. It also makes great under curve power. In addition to the supercharger, it has Kooks headers and a 15” wheel conversion to fit a nice fat tire at the rear.
When they hit the track recently, they made believers out of many with this shop car. During a test and tune run, the Camaro runs a scorching 10.7 E/T in the 1/4 mile at 129 mph on only 7 psi of boost. It’s also impressive to note that it burned through the 60’ in 1.58 seconds. We’ll be watching for updates on this build for sure!
