The Kansas City Mecum auction of 2016 is pulling in 700 vehicles, and among those featured, are ten Camaros from the Matt Wagoner collection. These Camaros are one the key highlights of the auction, and we’re already drooling over them. Within the collection are all low-mileage (some still in the double-digits) 5th-gens, some of which are very rare editions.
While we pool together our money to get a new GM-EFI project car (okay, full disclosure, we’re all really poor from our current builds, and are actually just buying lotto tickets with the highest hopes), check out these ten beautiful beasts. Here are the Matt Wagoner Camaros that will take over the March 11th and 12th Mecum Kansas City auction.
1.) 2010 Camaro SS 6.2L, 6-Speed (Lot S89)
Do you ever wish you could build a time machine and go back to 2010, to buy one of the first 5th gens made? Unless you’ve already got the prototype mocked up, it might just be quicker to head to Kansas City for this pristine Camaro. It’s as if time completely stood still for this car, and with only 206 miles on the clock, it pretty much has.
Mecum Highlights:
- 206 original miles
- 426 horsepower 6.2L engine
- 6-speed transmission
- Brembo disc brakes
- Factory plastic intact
- Leather upholstery
- Console gauges
- OnStar, Bluetooth, and satellite radio compatible
2.) 2012 Camaro ZL1 Supercharged 6.2L, 6-Speed (Lot S116)
The ZL1 is one of the baddest Camaros made. Its 580 horsepower supercharged engine gets you to 60 miles per hour in 4.1 seconds, but it’s not all straight line for the ZL1. These Camaros have a track-tuned suspension and nimble handling.
If you want to tangle with this monster, it’s ready for someone to put it on the track to flex its muscles. With 289 miles, it needs an owner with a lead foot and some open road time.
Mecum Highlights:
- 289 original miles
- 580 horsepower supercharged 6.2L engine
- Roots supercharger and intercooler
- Tremec MG6 6-speed manual
- Coolers for the transmission and differential
- Brembo disc brakes on all four
- Front splitter
- Tour and Sport driving modes
- Magnetic ride control
- Sunroof equipped
- Black leather and suede interior with red accent stitching
3.) 2015 Camaro SVE Yenko Supercharged 427, 6-Speed (Lot S95)
One of the super stars of this featured collection is this stunning Special Vehicle Engineer Yenko Camaro. This fast paced animal is ready to tear up some pavement with the 700 horsepower power train, for your driving enjoyment.
It’s hard to say what the best part about this Yenko Camaro actually is… It could be the TVS 2300 supercharger equipped 427 LS7, or the exclusive appearance upgrades throughout. Okay, it’s the supercharged engine thing, but still, the rest of the car gives us the warm and fuzzies.
Mecum Highlights:
- Only 64 original miles
- Number 16 of 26 built to date by SVE
- Hand-built 700 horsepower 427 LS7
- Red rock metallic
- TVS 2300 supercharger package
- 6-speed manual transmission
- ZR1 dual disc clutch
- Magnetic ride control
- Lowering springs
- Performance stabilizer bars
- Performance traction control

- Yenko door sill plates
- Six 427 interior and body badges

- Yenko numbered dash plaque and key fobs
- Leather Recaro racing performance seats
- GM heritage front grille and color matched surround
- 20×10” 5-spoke gun metal wheels with sYc center caps
4.) 2011 Camaro SS Pace Car Edition 6.2L, 6-Speed (Lot S121)
This rare package is made even rarer by the transmission. Only 100 editions with 6-speeds were made, so this may be one of very few chances to buy this configuration. That’s 100 of only 500 2011 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car editions that left the line.
Like the other Camaros in the collection, this special edition is pristine. It has never seen a drop of rain, and was stored in a climate controlled collection garage. Driven less than 2,000 miles, this Camaro is barely broken in, and ready to lead the pack.
Mecum Highlights:
- 1,178 original miles
- 1 of 500 Pace Car editions made in 2011
- 1 of 100 made with a 6-speed manual
- 6.2L engine
- Brembo disc brakes on all four corners
- 2SS equipment package
- Console gauges
5.) 2012 Camaro Callaway 45th Anniversary Edition Supercharged 6.2L, 6-Speed (Lot S99)
Only five 45th anniversary Callaway Camaros were made in 2012. This slick Camaro is the best way Chevy could’ve celebrated the Camaro’s 45 year milestone. It’s equipped with drool-worthy performance and appearance upgrades throughout.
With a little over 5,000 miles on the clock, this Camaro has put in more road time than the others. You wouldn’t be able to tell it’s ever been driven by the condition. With only four others existing like this one in the world, this is the rarest Camaro in the collection.
Mecum Highlights:
- 5,043 original miles
- Supercharged 6.2L that makes 572 horsepower
- 6-speed manual transmission
- Chevy Brembo disc brakes
- Carbon flash and black interior
- Hurst shifter
- Console gauges
- OnStar, Bluetooth, and satellite radio ready
- Callaway Certification of Authenticity included
6.) 2013 Camaro SS Hot Wheels Edition 6.2L, 6-Speed (Lot S125)
Your childhood dreams of driving a real life Hot Wheels car is realized through this Camaro. This car definitely brings back memories of begging to get a new Hot Wheels every time this gear head went to the store. Okay, so maybe that happened early today (prices are going up on those suckers!).
This special edition has been enjoyed for a little over 3,000 miles. It’s one of only 314 convertibles produced, and only 1 of 57 editions with a 6-speed. The optional package originally added $6,995 to the price from Chevy.
Mecum Highlights:
- Hot Wheels Special Edition
- 3,452 original miles
- 426 horsepower 6.2L engine
- Special Kinetic Blue paint job that’s exclusive to this package
- Wheels have a special pin-striping package
7.) 2014 Camaro SS Pace Car Edition 6.2L, Auto (Lot S107)
Maybe I’m just a sucker for Pace Car editions, but there’s something about these editions that have always caught my eye. The Camaro definitely rocks the Pace Car look the best, as evident by this 2014 SS.
Nipping at 2,000 miles driven, this car still has a lot of pacing left it in. It’s one of only two automatics in the collection, so it might be a good straight line track car for the right driver. The irony wouldn’t be lost if an Indy Pace Car was turned into a drag car, but that’s just what would happen if it found its way into my garage.
Mecum Highlights:
- 1,947 original miles
- 6.2L engine
- Automatic transmission
- Brembo disc brakes
- Touchscreen interface
- Console gauges
- Power options throughout
- Bluetooth and satellite radio compatible
8.) 2014 Camaro Z/28, 7.0L, 6-Speed (Lot S131)
What’s a Camaro collection without the absolutely jaw-dropping 5th gen Z/28? This striking Z/28 is a ready-made track car. There’s probably not a Camaro enthusiast alive who would turn the Z/28 away. This Camaro might not top the horsepower on the list, but it makes up for it in raw track value.
Mecum Highlights:
- 81 original miles
- 500 horsepower LS7 dry sump engine
- Titanium rods and intake valves
- Forged crankshaft
- Hydroform headers
- CNC ported heads
- Cold air intake
- Tremec TR6060 6-speed transmission
- 3.91 limited slip differential
- Brembo carbo-ceramic disc brakes
- Aerodynamic body package
- Black leather and suede interior
- Black 19” wheels
- Pirelli P-Zero tires
9.) 2013 Camaro SS 6.2L, 6-Speed (Lot S111)
This sinister looking SS seems ready for trouble. It’s all black, black wheels, black interior, and so on. The only thing that doesn’t camouflage in the black are the stainless exhaust tips and taillight bezels.
Mecum Highlights:
- 516 original miles
- 6.2L engine
- 6-speed transmission
- Brembo disc brakes
- Console gauges
- Power options throughout
10.) 2015 Camaro SS 6.2L, Auto (Lot S134)
This color green isn’t one you see as often as the others. The Camaro is one of the only cars that can really pull it off and make dark green look mean. It’s also only the second Camaro of the ten with an automatic transmission. It’s not a rare edition, but this low mileage SS does represent the 5th generation Camaro lineup with style.
Mecum Highlights:
- 989 original miles
- 6.2L engine
- Automatic transmission
- Brembo disc brakes
- Limited slip differential
- Magnetic ride control
- 8” touch screen infotainment
- Console gauges
- HID headlights
- LED taillights
- 20” wheels
