The last of the third-generation Firebirds are quickly gaining popularity in the automotive aftermarket, and in the hot rod community. Utilizing a unique “Banshee Concept Car-style” front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper, they differed from their earlier predecessors in this regard, among other attributes.
Pontiac did this for two reasons; first, to give the car an update after the ’85-90 styling had started to get stale, and secondly, to help Segway the styling of the car into the then-upcoming 4th-generation model. This way, the body style change for 1993 wouldn’t be as stark of a contrast for potential buyers, when compared to the 1992 model. Pontiac had used a similar tactic for the ’79 Firebird when they were preparing for the 1982 car.
Unfortunately, up to this point, the specific 1991-1992 front parking lamps were not being reproduced. If yours were faded or cracked, you had to go dumpster diving in the junkyards, eBay, scour Facebook Marketplace, etc. Usually, those used replacements would be just as bad, or worse, than the ones you were trying to replace, or you had to sell a body part to buy a set of NOS examples. Nobody made reproductions. Until now.
