Well, this is a bummer. Thanks to Tropical Storm Bill, the NMCA was forced to cancel this weekend’s Chevrolet Performance/LSX Shootout at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana. Not wanting to risk anyone’s safety, the event will not be rescheduled, but the series will resume as planned. You can learn more from the official statement from the NMCA below!
Official Release:
Tropical Storm Bill Forces Cancellation of NMCA Muscle Car Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis
Santa Ana, Calif. (June 17, 2015) – The scheduled for June 18-21 at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis has just been cancelled due to extreme weather in the area. An already difficult forecast has been made dramatically worse by Tropical Storm Bill, which is forecasted to cause heavy rain in Indianapolis on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The track conditions of the already drenched Lucas Oil Raceway are certain to become much worse with the arrival of the approaching storm.
The event will not be rescheduled, however, the 9th Annual Chevrolet Performance Shootout will now be held at the NMCA World Street Finals event in Norwalk, OH on August 27-30. The remaining rounds of competition from the rain-delayed Kentucky event will be completed at the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl event in Joliet, IL on July 30 – August 2.
