Street Outlaws Participant Charged with Murder

SOM-99Just two weeks after the National Hot Rod Association had threatened to suspend the licenses of those involved with the hit reality TV show, Street Outlaws, one of the show’s participants are now in police custody.

Israel “Izzy” Valenzuela, owner of Izzy Performance, and Henry Michael Gevorgyan have both been charged with murder of Eric Siguenza, 26, and Wilson Thomas Wong, 50, who were acting as bystanders at a recent street racing event in L.A.

It is said that Valenzuela was racing Gevorgyan at an undisclosed location in Los Angeles County, when Gevorgyan lost control of his car, killing two people and injuring a third. As a result of Southern California’s strict street racing laws, Izzy is essentially being held responsible not only as an accomplice, but for also supposedly organizing the event in which took the lives of Siguenza and Wong, and injuring the unnamed third-party.

Valenzuela is currently sitting in jail, while prosecutors keep him there until a $2-million bond is posted for his bail. According to TMZ, who reached out to him the day after the alleged incident back in February, Izzy claims he wasn’t even out during the night in question, and claimed to have been working in his shop.

What this means for Street Outlaws is undetermined as of yet and if found innocent and released, if Izzy will ever make another appearance on the show. Until then, keep it tuned right here at GM EFI, as we’ll bring you update as they develop.
