VIDEO: Magnuson Release 6th-Gen Camaro Kit Teaser

Magnuson Superchargers is a brand well-loved by the GM performance community. Their blowers are probably the most familiar name in the Camaro (and Corvette) world, and everyone knows what you mean when you say, “It’s got a Maggie!” They’ve made blowers that have caused controversy (in an innovative way) and have continued to raise the bar.

Their newest GM blower project has been the kits for the new 6th-generation Camaro, and we’re chomping at the bit to get behind the wheel of Camaro equipped with one!

The Magnuson blowers are well-tested and have proven themselves time and time again. They are used by some of the most respected names in the engine building industry, like Livernois Performance, Vengeance Racing, JDP Motorsports and Redline Motorsports, among others. You know if they’re good enough for builders of that caliber, they have to be great!

This teaser video shows a 2016 Camaro with 6.2L V8 on the dyno. The Camaro put down 555 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque! Stock GM, quotes these cars as having 455 horsepower, and 455 lb.-ft. of torque – to the flywheel. That is quite the gain.

They currently offer the 2.3L Heartbeat supercharger for the 5th-gens, and they add over 125hp to the wheels. Their test car was a completely stock 2014 Camaro SS 1LE that added an insane 140 horsepower to the wheels on a Mustang Dyno, for a total of 530 rwhp.

maggie-2They’re now taking preorders, so the kit should be available soon, and the nitty gritty details will likely become more available in the very short future. You can expect to see these in heavy use by both engine builders and DIY’ers since their kits are known for ease of installation when compared to what else is in on the market.

We’ll be quiet now so you can listen to the Camaro whine on the dyno as the supercharger helps to push it well into the mid 500 horsepower range, with no other mods!
