VIDEO: Furches Performance Road Tripping to Holley’s LS Fest West 2019

Furches Performance is gearing up for the upcoming Holley LS Fest West in Las Vegas, NV. Brandon Furches, owner of the performance shop, gives us a taste of the absolute monster build they are planning to bring to the event. This is just an introduction to the next six-weeks worth of upgrades and updates being made by the shop in preparation for the event. With his 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo, he’s heading to the West with one mission: Reset the front-wheel drive, LS-powered drag racing record!

The trip will cover 3300-miles across the nation, as they set off from Massachusetts, and land in Nevada’s most famous city. You might expect that a radical build hoping to set a new drag record would be trailered across the land, as they wouldn’t want to risk breaking anything along the way, but that’s not the case. The car is being driven the whole way, and they even have a tire tread camera hooked up to document the whole ride.

During the trip, they have planned stop in five states to meet up with some of the leading innovators in the automotive industry. Stops include the GM Heritage Center, Mickey Thompson Tires and Brian Tooley Racing, to name a few.

So what is this LS4 swapped Monte Carlo made of? Changes and upgrades over the next few weeks pending, it’s got around 800-horsepower, and gets its major power boost from a turbocharger. Inside the engine are parts like a Comp Cams camshaft, and PAC Racing Springs that are seated in stock 243 heads.

Twin 340lph fuel pumps and 80 lb/hr Ford Racing fuel injectors keep the engine well-fed with fuel, while breathing comes from an Edelbrock high-ram style intake manifold and 92mm Fuel Air Spark Technology (FAST) throttle body, and it exhales through a set of GM exhaust manifolds and a 4-inch straight pipe.

What’s going to be changed or upgraded over the next six-weeks is not yet known, but considering what it already has, we can’t wait to see what’s next!
