VIDEO: BMR Showcases G-Body Control Arm Braces

GM G-Bodies have been some of the most dominating street and track cars for decades now. From stock, to wild, they are mean beasts that look the part. These cars are known to have suspension load issues, thanks to deflection, and changes in rearend geometry happen as a result. A little more control could go a long when it comes to getting behind the wheel of a G-Body.

BMR recently released new control arm braces for 1978-1987 GM G-Bodies to fix these issues. We told you about these a few weeks ago, you can check out the original release here. This video explains just exactly how these control arm braces work, and why G-Body owners should use them.

The new BMR control arm braces are made to help cars launch harder, reduce wheel hop, and improve cornering. These replace the stamp steel sections of the factory frame that are known for deflecting under load. It eliminates the flex that changes the geometry of the rearend of the car.

These control arm reinforcement braces attach to the inner part of the upper and lower control arm mounts. This adds strength to areas of these cars that are prone to deflection. The braces are made from heavy-duty, 1-inch diameter, 0.156” wall DOM steel tubing, and have a center adjustment. It’s this heavy-duty construction that helps to eliminate flex, giving you more control and more consistency.

BMR made these braces to run on street car, drag cars, and even road racing applications. They offer the kits in black hammertone and red powdercoat for a lifetime of good looks. They’re also made in the U.S.A.! Using these won’t interfere with your exhaust components. They allow for plenty of room for stock or aftermarket exhaust systems/mufflers.

These install in 2-3 hours, and then you’re ready to hit the road or track with a new level of control and traction. BMR makes correcting frame deflection issues seriously easy. Check them out here.
