Some of the Best and Worst 6th-Gen Camaro Renderings

For the absolute best in 6th-Generation Camaro renderings, X-Tomi Design is the website you’ve got to visit. That’s because of all the 6th-Gen renderings that have leaked into the e-verse, X-Tomi’s are among the most creative and stylistically accurate.

But aside from the “Car Town” creations that have leaked-out from the X-Tomi studio, CamaroG6.com has also featured some of the internet’s most intriguing concept sketches that were created over the last five years. We’ve provided those sketches, as well as various others, to reflect back at some of the most creative, and downright crazy, 2016 Camaro renderings of the past five years.

One of the most unique, ZL1 renderings we’ve seen comes to us from automotive design student, Wonsu Cho. Previously involved with an intern program through Volkswagen in 2014, Cho is looking forward to grabbing a design degree this upcoming January, from Detroit’s own College for Creative Studies. Cho isn’t the only one speculating on how the 6th-Gen pony will appear, but with a sky-high GPA of 3.6-4.0, with experience to support it, we’re pretty convinced that this Camaro enthusiast is locking-into the “right” vision.

But as for GM’s Camaro development team, they’ve also paid close attention to aerodynamics in the 6th-Gen’s overall design. Exterior design manager, Kirk Bennion, explains the importance of wind resistance to the Camaro’s overall performance, “As engine output increases, we need more engine cooling,” says Bennion of the 6th-Gen’s architecture. “As acceleration and top speeds climb, we need to reduce lift for better, high-speed stability.”

Aside from the 350+ hours of wind tunnel testing that the team has invested, often at a rate of 24 hours per day, GM’s Camaro development team has also made sure to set the angle of the car’s lower grille bars to 13-degrees adjacent to the car’s horizon. By doing this, the team was able to increase the car’s engine cooling by 1-percent, while still maintaining the Camaro’s intended grille design.

 

These, of course, leave us with only one question: Are you ready for the 6th Generation of Camaro muscle, or will this be just another “musclecar flop?!”
