It’s been a while since we’ve brought you an eBay Find of the Day, but when we ran passed this ad on the famous auction site today, we couldn’t help but pass is along. Apparently, our friends at Gas Monkey Garage have went out of their classic car norm to acquire (and flip) this late-model Corvette.
Now we’re a huge fan of the show, the shop and we’re also big-time fans of C4 Corvettes. Don’t ask us why we dig them, we just do. This particular example is a relatively rare ’96 Collectors Edition with a convertible top and a 300 hp LT1. Now, you might not win any races against a much newer C6 or C7 example, but you don’t buy a car like this to build power, you buy it to cruise and enjoy.
We read through the the seller’s description, and passed it along below. Happy Bidding!:
“The Collectors Edition was a limited-production of specially-equipped Corvettes with exclusive Sebring Silver paint, chromed “Collector Edition” emblems, 17” five-spoke aluminum wheels, and painted silver and black brake calipers with raised bright aluminum “Corvette” lettering. The cockpit-style interior featured perforated Sport Seats with “Collector Edition” embroidered on the headrest. This car was stored in a climate-controlled garage with the cover in place and has been very well maintained by the previous owner, who had always wanted a Corvette convertible and waited until later in life to fulfill his dream.”
“The exterior is in very good condition with a few paint scuffs keeping it from being considered pristine (see all pics!). The interior is in equally well preserved condition with the shifter escutcheon bezel being the only detraction from being considered pristine as well! The multi-function power adjustable seats work as they should, as well as the power windows, A/C, wipers lights etc. The car runs and drives well (I drove it back to the shop, never exceeding the posted speed limits!). The convertible top is in good condition, retracts and stores smoothly as it should, and the car cover is included so you can continue the care of this fairly rare Collectors Edition Corvette.”
