The LSA-powered ZL1 and CTS-V had catapulted the Camaro and CTS to new levels of performance, equipping them with horsepower never before seen from mainstream GM vehicles. Time has moved on and updated versions of both cars have emerged, but as a result, it just means that there are going to be even more of them hitting the secondhand market in the coming years.
What does this mean for guys like us? Well, for starters they’ll become more affordable and we’ll continue to see an increase in hardware from the aftermarket. A perfect example of this is what we’re seeing from Superchargers Online (SCOL).
Just this morning, information had slid across our desk that they’ve just announced an easy supercharger upgrade, designed to work for all LSA-powered vehicles. Learn more about it from the release below!
EASY LSA UPGRADE FROM SUPERCHARGERS ONLINE
Superchargers Online’s new LSA Performance Inlet lets Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1 and Cadillac CTS-V owners get more boost out of their superchargers with minimal effort.
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (May, 2017) – Superchargers Online, a leading distributor of superchargers and superchargers parts, is excited to announce its new LSA Performance Inlet. Built using brand new EATON factory parts, this performance inlet is a direct bolt-on upgrade for the Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1 and Cadillac CTS-V, and is available with two different size ZPE/SCOL GripTec performance pulleys.
The LSA engine was one of General Motors’ first factory supercharged V8 engines, and when it hit the streets in 2008 under the hood of the Cadillac CTS-V, it didn’t take tuners long to start trying to extract more power. Until now, increasing the boost output from the LSA’s EATON TVS1900 supercharger meant using a hydraulic press to remove the factory pulley and then either press on a new pulley or a hub that can accept bolt-on pulleys. Now, Superchargers Online has taken the work out of the LSA pulley upgrade with its new bolt-on LSA Performance Inlet.
Superchargers Online’s LSA Performance Inlet is built using brand new EATON factory parts including a new inlet casting, new bearings, and a new bypass actuator. Increased boost comes by way of the preinstalled ZPE/SCOL GripTec pulley which features ZPE’s patented micro machining process for increased friction between the pulley and drive belt to reduce slippage. Multiple pulley options are also available to allow owners to match the boost increase to a variety of engine upgrades – from 2.55-inches down to 2.38-inches for up to a 5-psi gain.
The LSA Performance Inlet is a direct bolt-on upgrade for the 2009-2013 Cadillac CTS-V, the 2012-2015 Chevrolet Camaro ZL-1, and the Chevrolet Performance LSA crate engine, will require recalibration of the ECU. Made in the USA and backed by a 30-day warranty against manufacturer defects, the inlet comes with all parts necessary for a complete installation, including new mounting hardware, a new EATON Solid Isolator, and RTV sealant. The LSA Performance Inlet is not legal for use on pollution-controlled vehicles.
