C7 Z06 vs. Hellcat Charger vs. Hellcat Challenger vs. Viper SRT

Those ScorchTV boys are at it again in this recent grudge-match video featuring a pair of Hellcat Dodges squaring off against a C7 Corvette Z06 and an SRT Viper. With all of them packing well over 600 hp and being solid high-ten/low-eleven second machines, it’s a winner takes all battle that simply comes down to driver talent and a perfect launch.

Apart from the Viper, all of them are equipped with automatic transmissions; making for lighting-fast shifts and little room for error. Of course, this is an unsanctioned event held somewhere on the streets of Am- “Mexico,” and there are little consequences to those involved.

All vehicles are rumored to be bone stock, based on the description provided in the video’s description. The Corvette simply cleaned house with the exemption of one or two races, despite multiple pairings of each car. The Charger and Challenger Hellcats pack 707 hp from the factory, the Viper and Vette supposedly shell out a number each rated in the mid-600s.

You might think that the blown 6.2L Hemis might have the edge over the V10 Viper and the supercharged Vette, but there’s a serious weight penalty to keep in mind if you’re rooting for the blown Hellcats. However, when it comes down to street racing, factory-rated horsepower numbers and curb weight don’t mean anything as there are way too many variables that come into play in the real world.

While we don’t normally condone this sort of racing action, it is quite interesting to see how the Corvette stacks up against its Chrysler competition, despite it being “down on power” compared to the others. However, we still highly recommend sticking to the dragstrip.
