2017 Yenko Camaro Heads to Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale

As the 2018 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale event gets closer, we continue to keep an eye on the inventory that’s heading to the auction block. This 2017 Yenko Camaro will be a highlight of the event in Arizona, and is sure to fetch a hefty amount. Cars like this are further promoting the notion that this will be one of the largest Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auctions ever.

This modern Yenko Camaro is from the Steve Todhunter Collection, and is one of just 50 Limited Edition 2017 Yenko Camaro built by Special Vehicles Engineering (SVE). As a part of the special package, the Yenko Camaro gets a boost from the stop 455-horsepower LT1 engine, to an output of 800-horsepower and 750 lbs-ft of torque.

Its aluminum V8 powertrain is balanced and blueprinted, using a heavy-duty forged steel crank, H-beam connecting rods, aluminum pistons, CNC-ported and polished heads, an LT4 fuel system and fuel injectors, and a customized blower.

The body is dressed up with the Yenko specific badges on the engine cover, hood cowl, decklid, and special brake caliper badged. It has a hood stripe along the custom hood in matte black that matches the side stripe. Along with the exterior goodies, the inside is adorn with SVE headrests, fancy floor mats, and a few subtle accents. The build rides on 20” wheels, and has a hefty price tag.

If you bought the Yenko Camaro new, it would have cost an extra $40,000 for the upgrade, not including the purchase price of the Camaro. Doubling the price tag is what 50 people were willing to pay for exclusivity, but someone buying one through auction makes for an unpredictable situation.

According to the DuPont Registry, this is one of two currently for sale, with the second appearing to be sold through a dealership in Ohio, and not heading to Barrett-Jackson.
