The 12th Annual Chevrolet Performance LSX Shootout is heading to the “LS Capital of the World” as NMCA officials bring the longest running LS-based national event to Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky over the weekend of May 17-20, 2018. And to celebrate the LS and modern LT platforms, NMCA officials have over $50,000 in purse, prizes, and giveaways slated for the second stop on the Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series five-event tour. The LSX Shootout is run as part of the Quick Fuel Technology NMCA Blue Grass Nationals and the event is presented by Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center.

Come in Thursday and enjoy an exclusive LSX Shootout Racer Appreciation Dinner with a FREE parts raffle with over $10,000 in giveaways. Call it a warm up before the on-track and car show action begins on Friday with even more prizes and race purses up for grabs.

The action-packed event includes six Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series categories to showcase the best Chevy and General Motors has to offer under the hood of a wide-variety of street and race cars. If you enjoy breath-taking action with wild wheelstands, big turbo, supercharged, and nitrous-injected small-tire action, then the Brian Tooley Racing Real Street Shootout is exactly what you need with cars going into the 4s in the 1/8-mile competition. The popular LME Street King and Proform Rumble index categories are a staple in the LSX Shootout class line-up. Of course the Chevrolet Performance Stock heads-up class with sealed crate motors gives fans high-flying fun. Our friends in the performance division of the Bowtie will be giving LSX blocks to the class winners in Real Street, Street Rumble, Street King, and CP Stock.

If street cars are your pleasure, there are two awesome opportunities to have fun at the LSX Shootout. The Gear Vendors LSX True Street class calls for competitors to drive 30-miles and perform a trio of passes, of which an average ET is formed and the field is ranked on that average. Winners that are declared and paid include the Overall Winner, Overall Runner-Up, and quickest averages in the 9-, 10-, 11-, 12-, 13-, 14-, and 15-second zones. In addition to the top prize, the overall winner will receive a Chevrolet Performance LSX engine block valued at more than $3,150!

The second street car class is dubbed the Chevrolet Performance Street Car Challenge, which a FREE entry, valued up to $175, is given away for the first 75 enthusiasts that pre-enter the LSX Shootout. The class offers a casual atmosphere where enthusiasts can hangout at the Chevrolet Performance Street Car Challenge Pavilion and legally drag race their LS or modern LT-powered vehicles. Cash prizes are given out to average ET winners in the 9-, 10-, 11-, 12-, 13-, 14-, and 15-second zones, along with an Overall Winner and Overall Runner-Up.

The LSX Shootout has been a staple in the modern small-block street and race scene and the 2018 version is bigger, bolder, and more fun thanks to our partners at Chevrolet Performance and Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center. In addition to the LSX Shootout, the NMCA Bluegrass Nationals goes down the same weekend of May 17-20, 2018 with 4,500hp VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod door-slammers, Mickey Thompson Radial Wars, Nostalgia Super Stock and its Dave Duell Classic shootout, as well as dozens of other awesome features like an all-American car show and manufacturer’s midway. Combined, the event offers over $125,000 in purse, prizes, and giveaways to celebrate horsepower, muscle cars, and modern horsepower.

The NMCA Drag Racing Series, presented by E3 Spark Plugs, is the second largest drag racing sanctioning body and is known as “The World’s Fastest Street Cars.” Supported by top engine and chassis builders from around the country, Xtreme Pro Mod is the ultimate door-slammer class that features heads-up Nitrous vs. Turbo vs. Blower big tire action. VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod is part of NMCA’s heads-up lineup that includes Mickey Thompson Radial Wars, Vortech Superchargers Street Outlaw, ARP Nitrous Pro Street, Edelbrock Xtreme Street, Holley EFI Factory Super Cars, N/A 10.5, Chevrolet Performance Stock and other power-infused categories.
