eBay Find of the Day: LS2-Powered Syclone Pro-Street Truck

LS2Syclone-1

eBay is filled with a vast selection of collectibles from all over the country, from nick-nacks to Beanie Babies, you can find just about anything you want for a bidding price. We pop in from time to time to keep an eye on the collector car market and to occasionally order a part or two for one of our ongoing projects.

When we ran passed this LS2-swapped GMC Syclone with what the seller describes as a “pro-street/pro-touring theme” at no reserve, we stopped in our tracks. Known for being a turbocharged V6-powered pickup with all-wheel drive and incredible handling (for a ’90s pickup), seeing one transformed into narrowed-axle, tubbed and slammed street/strip vehicle is certainly taking the path less traveled for one of these.

Being the subject of a complete ground up restification, the turbocharged Syclone has been treated to a Chevrolet Performance LS2 crate engine, ceramic-coated headers and exhaust, a built 4L65E gearbox, and a combination of TRZ, Koni, and Spohn suspension piece with Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings. It’s no longer turbocharged or rear-wheel drive, however.

Out back, sits a Strange Engineering narrowed 9-inch rearend with 3.70 gears, while Wilwood brakes at all four corners poke through Billet Specialites Street Lite wheels. An Aeromotive fuel system and a 100-shot NX nitrous kit is there to always help pull you away from a stop light a little quicker, too.

As it stands at press time, the classic GMC truck is sitting on eBay without a reserve and is holding steady at a current bid of just over $25,000. Will it approach $30k? Who knows, but with five days left, anything is possible.
